As per the report:
Over the last 10 years, there has been $258.4B of equity investment across 1,688 unique companies in the space economy, led by investment in the U.S. and China.
With another $7.2B invested in the quarter, VCs invested $17.1B into 328 space companies in 2021, accounting for 3% of total global venture capital flows. This beats the previous annual record year of $9.1B, set in 2020.
The majority of investment dollars YTD have gone to Late Stage rounds, however 74 early stage rounds account for 62% of all rounds closed, representing nearly $0.8B of investment and a healthy front of the funnel.
